From Kisumu to the World: Longridge School’s Cambridge Curriculum Aims to Shape Learners

New campus aims to nurture globally competitive learners with French bilingual programs, a small-class model.

MILIMANI, Kisumu– Kisumu’s education landscape is set for a major transformation as Longridge International School and Two Giraffes Bilingual Crèche open their doors in the city, introducing the globally recognised Cambridge curriculum and French bilingual programs.

Speaking during the launch at the school’s Millimani campus, Longridge Director Wilberforce Kidavi said the institution aims to position learners as future international leaders by combining academic excellence with talent development.

The Cambridge system doesn’t just educate, but it prepares students to thrive in a connected world,” Kidavi said.

“Partnering with Two Giraffes allows us to embed French fluency early among children thus giving them a competitive edge.”

The school envisions expanding a network of high-quality bilingual institutions across Kenya, with plans already underway for a new Nairobi branch.

“We want learners to be globally aware, culturally grounded, and academically exceptional,” Kidavi added.

Edwin Ndege, Chairman of Kisumu County’s Parents Association, hailed the venture as a game changer for the region’s education standards.

This elevates Kisumu’s global standing, but affordability and a child-friendly environment must be prioritised, urging alignment with Kenya’s competency-based curriculum (CBC).”
