Two female suspects, Sharon Auma and Nancy Atieno Obura, have been arrested, and a Canik pistol in their possession was recovered in Awasi town, Nyando Sub-County, in Kisumu County.
The arrest follows a WhatsApp photo post tha that went viral after being shared by Sharon.
In the post, she is seen brandishing a pistol while ominously warning that: ‘any man who dared dump her would face dire consequences.’
In a swift swoop and interrogation by detectives, Sharon led them to a rented two-bedroom house belonging to her friend and now co-accused (Nancy).
A thorough house search led to the recovery of the pistol with an empty magazine wrapped in clothes and stashed in a basin under the bed.

The officers also recovered a fake motorcycle number plate bearing the initials KMGG 805M.
Both suspects are in custody and are currently being processed as they await being arranged in court soon.
The sleuths are pursuing several leads to arrest more suspects in connection with the firearm.
The operation was undertaken by detectives drawn from Nyando-DCI and the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau-Nyanza Region.
