KISUMU, Kenya, October – The national Bunge la Wanainchi forum from four counties has resolved to rally behind Siaya Senator Dr Oburu Oginga as the undisputed spokesperson of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
The counties also unanimously resolved that Dr Oginga will henceforth be the community spokesman. Led by the caucus chairman Obungu Owich, the group said the debate about ODM leadership should now come to an end.
Speaking in Kisumu while en route to Bondo to pay homage to the late Raila Odinga at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi in Nyamira, Owich noted that there is no leadership vacuum within the party.
“Let leaders now concentrate on development matters and work on ways and means of uniting the Kenyan people,” he said.

The chairman was flanked by Bunge leaders from Kisumu, Nairobi, Homa Bay, Nakuru and Eldoret. He urged leaders to ensure ODM remains in the broad-based government according to the aspirations of Raila Odinga.
He said the caucus embraces all divergent views but does not preach divisive politics at the end of the day. The team said they are going to mourn Odinga at this time since they could not get adequate time before.
“The late Odinga believed in a unified Kenya, hence the need to embrace the same.”
