Police,Teachers Recruitments: Uasin Gishu Religious Leaders Demand Fairness to Restore Public Trust

UASIN GISHU, Kenya, October 1st – A section of religious leaders from Uasin Gishu County have called on the government to uphold fairness in police recruitment and teacher employment exercises to ensure integrity, foster public trust, and attract more competent individuals.

This, they noted, will significantly reduce rampant corruption, bias and favouritism that has been witnessed in the past.

Speaking at Umoja PAG Church to mark 100 years since the church was founded, the leaders led by Reverend Rodgers Lusisa urged the government to ensure both processes are based on qualifications, skills, and merit rather than connections and bribes or undue influences.

They warned that the country won’t succeed and might fall out completely if the exercises continue to be plagued with allegations of corruption and favouritism that erodes public trust, denying deserving individuals to serve in such critical institutions.

Reverend Lusisa further appealed to leaders across board to help build a stronger and more professional police service that is more better equipped to perform it’s duties and serve the public effectively.
