Nairobi, July 12, 2026 -President William Ruto remains the most preferred presidential candidate heading into the 2027 General Election, according to the latest Infotrak survey.
The poll puts Ruto at 32%, ahead of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka on 13% and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna on 12%. Former Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i is also at 12%.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua follows with 4%, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has 3%, former Chief Justice David Maraga 2%, and Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua 1%. 1% of the respondents picked other candidates, 3% preferred not to say, while 18% remain undecided.
For the DP slot, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki leads with 34%. Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga is second at 11%, followed by ODM party leader Oburu Oginga at 9%.
Siaya Governor James Orengo has 5%, Mining CS Hassan Joho 4%, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru 3%, while National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi each have 2%.
A Kalonzo Musyoka–Edwin Sifuna ticket tops the preferred opposition pairings for 2027 at 23%, ahead of a Kalonzo Musyoka–Fred Matiang’i combination at 16%.
On the current broad-based government, 33% of Kenyans say they support it, 37% oppose it, 27% are neutral, and 3% are undecided.
UDA leads party preference at 22%, narrowly ahead of ODM at 21% while DCP is at 9%, Jubilee 6%, and Wiper 5%. 29% of respondents said they have no party preference.
The findings suggest a highly competitive 2027 race, with Ruto maintaining an early lead but nearly 1 in 5 voters still undecided and party loyalties closely split between UDA and ODM.
