ASK Chairman George Ong’udi Enters Kisumu Central Parliamentary Race

KISUMU, Kenya, November 4th –A Kisumu contractor has joined the race for the Kisumu Central constituency seat as the list of contenders continues to swell.

Mr George Ong’udi, who is also the Chairperson of the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK), Kisumu branch, said he has been consulting residents of the electoral area who have approved his candidature.

Mr Ong’udi, who has been promoting empowerment for both youths and women, said his decision has been driven by the fact that the Kisumu Central constituency requires the services of someone who has been in the area throughout his life.

He was initially in the non-governmental organisations sector before moving into the construction and real estate sector, where he has been involved in several county- and national-government projects in Kisumu and beyond.

‘’I want to go and fully represent the people of Kisumu to ensure the locals are in the Government and the government by the people, and that is the most profoundly, important role I will play by articulating the views of the Kisumu residents in the decision-making process’’ he said,

He added, “I have several engagements with the women, youths and the elderly.”

His chances in Kisumu are very high since he was born and bred there. Even though he hails from Nyakach, Ong’udi says most of his life has been spent in Kisumu. He says he has a home in Kisumu town in addition to his businesses.

Ong’udi joins several aspirants who have so far declared their interests in the constituency, such as businessperson Edward Onyango alias Bob CEO, Kondele Ward MCA Joachim Oketch aka Swagga, immediate former MP Fred Ouda, and Dr Bernard Aete.

Kisumu Central is a cosmopolitan area with diverse backgrounds where many communities reside.
