Kibuye market wholesale foodstuff traders have finally reached an agreement with the management of Uhuru Business Complex Market to occupy the new facility.

This follows a deliberative and constructive stakeholder engagement meeting held between representatives of the wholesale traders and the market’s management.

The expansive and modern market boasts of clean and ample space for the traders to ply their wares.

Speaking during a media briefing on Friday, May 23rd, Uhuru Business Market Chairman James Oyuga Ombima announced a strategic partnership to integrate the wholesaler’s operations into the new facility effective Monday, May 26th.

“This landmark collaboration marks a significant step toward fostering economic synergy, enhancing market vibrancy, and
promoting sustainable commercial growth in Kisumu,” he said.

Ombima said that they undertook thorough feasibility studies which bore into the merger set to unlock multiple benefits.

“The integration is further expected to enhance the market’s capacity, enhance its position, and diversify its offerings to traders, customers, and the broader community.”

attracting a broader customer base and fostering a competitive trading
environment,” Diana further said.

A joint task force has been established to ensure a seamless transition.

“It will oversee logistics which includes the allocation of trading spaces,
coordination of goods transportation, and implementation of operational protocols to maintain order and efficiency.”
