MAMBOLEO ASK SHOWGROUND, Kisumu. July -Officials have concluded that this year’s Agricultural Society of Kenya (A.S.K.). Kisumu regional show was a major success.
National Show Chairman George Ong’udi said at the close of the event over the weekend that a total of 70 exhibitors were at the show compared to last year’s 47 exhibitors.
Ong’udi attributed the high number of exhibitors to publicity and a larger scope of operation. He said they widened their scope of operation to other areas such as Siaya, Homa Bay, Busia, Kericho Kisii and Bomet.
The ASK Chief Steward, Rose Omondi, on her part, said parties from learning institutions also gave them a major boost, especially during the opening ceremony.

The theme of the show, Ong’udi, outlined was “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.
Concurring, Lake Basin Development Authority Managing Director Wycliffe Ochiaga said the theme of the show was relevant and aligns with the Millennium Development Goals of the country.
Ochiaga urged area residents to embrace climate-smart agriculture in the wake of the effects of climate change.
Some of the traditional exhibitors who were there included the Kenya Ports Authority, Kenya Commercial Bank, and the Department of Agriculture and Luwombo from Uganda.
