KASAGAM, Kisumu, October 11th –Kisumu police officers have successfully recovered yet another stolen vehicle, bringing the total number of recovered vehicles to 16.
This latest recovery has also led to the arrest of one additional suspect, Mr Musa Abdalla, raising the total number of individuals in custody to four. The main suspect, Evans Meda, and his two accomplices, Messrs Mwaga and Andai, were arrested last week.
On the night of Friday, October 10th, a specialised team of police officers from the Kasagam police station, under the command of Officer in Charge (OCS) Mr Daniel Njoka, acted on actionable intelligence received from a reliable source.
They targeted a suspected stolen motor vehicle believed to be hidden in the Butere sub-county, specifically within Muyundi sub-location in Kakamega County.
The vehicle was located at the home of Mzee Anangwe, the owner and father-in-law of the main suspect, Mr Evans Otieno Meda.
Mr Meda is currently in custody at the central police station and is set to be arraigned in court on Wednesday next week.
The operation led by OCS Njoka resulted in the recovery of a white Toyota Axio with the registration number KDH 490S. This vehicle was discovered in the parking yard of Mzee Anangwe’s property.

According to the police reports Mr Musa Abdalla is the one who drove the said motor vehicle from Kisumu through Mbale, Chavakali, Bukura, Sabatia, Butere and Muyundi area.
Alongside the recovery, the driver of the vehicle and Mr Abdalla were also arrested and are currently detained at the Kasagam police station, awaiting processing and their upcoming court appearance.
The recovered motor vehicle has been retained at the Kasagam police station as an exhibit.
OCS Njoka emphasised that the operation to recover all suspected stolen vehicles remains ongoing, with the police committed to dismantling the entire syndicate.
