KISUMU, Kenya July 31st –The Safaricom Safire Connect Forum was hosted in Kisumu County, bringing together over 500 farmers, agri-preneurs, and industry stakeholders for a day focused on agribusiness empowerment.
It was held as part of M-PESA Sokoni Festival -@18 activities in Greater Western region.
The forum explored digital tools like marketing, good farming practices, and financial management , Safaricom (NSE: SCOM, and social commerce strategies designed to turn traditional farming into profitable, tech-enabled businesses.
According to Lucille Aveva, Director, Customer Obsession, Safaricom PLC, Safaricom Safire Connect is a response to customers who wanted platforms where they can get information on how to enhance their businesses.
“Today’s forum has empowered about 500 farmers and agripreneurs in Kisumu with knowledge, networks, and practical digital tools that will accelerate their growth in an economy that is being driven by technology.
“We had farmers from various agricultural disciplines gaining from this platform, which we hope will transform their lives,” said Aveva.
In partnership with DTB bank, Centonomy, TransUnion, E-Mobilis, and Strathmore Business School, the forum featured a range of expert-led sessions covering smart farming, financial wellness, AI insights, and mobile-based marketing.

At the heart of the forum was DigiFarm, Safaricom’s flagship agri-tech platform, which connects smallholder farmers to certified inputs, financial services, e-learning modules, and ready markets.
Additional Safaricom business solutions showcased included Ziidi Money Market Fund, Fuliza ya Biashara, Pochi la Biashara, Taasi Till, and Taasi Pochi, all designed to support business efficiency and financial inclusion.
The Safaricom Safire Connect Forum is among several community-driven activations under the M-PESA Sokoni – Greater Western Edition, a regional celebration of M-PESA @ 18, running from 27th July to 2nd August 2025.
The tour features roadshows, delights, and engagement forums, deepening Safaricom’s commitment to empowering communities across Kenya.
