HOMABAY, Sept 2026 -Interior Priuncipal Secretary (PS)Dr Raymond Omollo has urged Karachuonyo residents to back President William Ruto’s re-election bid, saying the administration’s reforms in education, health, roads and security are transforming lives and must be sustained.
Speaking at Kanyamfwa High School in Rachuonyo West Sub-County on Friday during a school development drive, Dr Omollo said the President’s development agenda is already bearing fruit, citing ongoing infrastructure and education investments across the country.
“Education is the biggest equalizer,” he told hundreds of students, parents and community leaders, reaffirming the government’s commitment to transforming education infrastructure in Karachuonyo.
The PS announced he had personally cleared fee arrears amounting to Sh700,000. The final-year class, comprising 63 boarders, owed over Sh400,000, while day scholars and junior school learners had accumulated arrears exceeding Sh200,000.
“I have offered to clear the fee balances so that no child should be sent home. Let the children focus on their education,” Dr. Omollo said.
He noted the school, which has existed longer than the Republic of Kenya, has endured deplorable infrastructure for decades a situation he termed unacceptable.
He revealed that during an earlier consultative forum hosted by the Deputy County Commissioner, residents identified education, infrastructure and water as priority areas requiring urgent government and community intervention.
Addressing KCSE candidates, Dr. Omollo invoked the biblical metaphor of Christ’s humble birth in a manger, urging learners not to be defined by their surroundings.
“The state of this school is deplorable, but that does not take away what you have in your brain, your resolve, or the confidence your parents have in you,” he said.
He reminded students that several leaders on the podium, including himself, attended schools with similar challenges, rising through dedication to contribute to national development.
Local MCA Hon Odongo and area leaders attended the event, pledging community support for school improvements.
“You are only 140 students, but remember this day the community, leaders and parents gathered to change the story of Kanyamfwa,” Dr. Omollo said. “The only reward you can give us is good grades.”
