Bring Your Talent, Music, and Creativity” -Prof Oborah Rallies Creatives Ahead of World Talent Conference

TATU, KISUMU, Sept 2026 – Prof Humphrey Oborah, Secretary General of the World Talent Federation (WTF), has issued a clarion call to Africa and Kenyans to turn out and showcase their talents at the historic World Talent Conference (WTC) 2026.

Speaking at The African Talent University (TATU) in Kisumu, the host venue for the global showpiece set for October 26-30, Prof. Oborah urged those in the creative economy not to come as spectators.

“To our artists: Bring your creativity, to our musicians: Bring your music, to our comedians: Bring your comedy, to our sportspeople: Bring your talent, and to our parents and professionals: Bring your experience,” Prof Oborah said.

The conference, the first of its kind to be held in Africa, is themed “My Talent, My Brand,” and is now in its final mobilization phase ahead of the official 21-day countdown on Monday, October 5 at the Raila Odinga Memorial Hall, TATU.

Prof. Oborah said WTC 2026 is not limited to science labs and ICT.

“We are calling on schools, TVETs, universities, artists and professionals to bring their Talent Cohort Projects. This is not a conference where talent means only computers and innovations. We want musicians, comedians, actors, designers, chefs, sportspeople, beauticians, entrepreneurs and craftspeople,” he said.

He added: “Do not come to WTC 2026 merely to listen – come with something to show the world. Bring your music. Bring your comedy. Bring your drama. Bring your fashion. Bring your culinary arts. Bring your innovation.”

According to the Secretariat, projects can be presented by individuals or teams and may include performances, prototypes, products and community solutions from fields such as film, beauty, agriculture, engineering, health, climate action and entrepreneurship.

Prof Oborah said the Secretariat has lined up investors, sponsors, donors and development partners who will interact with showcased projects for possible financing, mentorship and commercialization.

“Your project could be your breakthrough. The project you bring to Kisumu may become the project that introduces you to the opportunity you have been waiting for,” he said.

He extended the call to the 47 counties, national government institutions and the people of Kisumu to take ownership and prepare to welcome the world, as organizers seek to position the lakeside city as “The Capital City of Talent in Africa.”

The Secretariat confirmed that attendance will be absolutely free, though mandatory registration via www.worldtalentconference.org will be required for planning and security.

“Let us get ready to welcome Kenya, Africa and the world,” Prof Oborah said.
