KISUMU, Kenya, September 8th –Kisumu County Governor, Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o, has expressed profound shock and sadness over the passing of Dalmas Otieno Anyango, the former Rongo Member of Parliament.
In a press statement, Governor Nyong’o conveyed his sincere condolences to the late politician’s family, relatives, and friends.
Having known Dalmas personally and collaborated with him on various platforms, Governor Nyong’o remembered him fondly for his wit and transformative economic ideas that benefited the common people.
He also acknowledged Dalmas’s foresight and significant political contributions.
The governor highlighted Dalmas’s selfless service to the people of Rongo Constituency, who elected him to Parliament on multiple occasions, and to the people of Kenya, whom he served as a Cabinet Minister during different periods.
Governor Nyong’o emphasised that contributions and positive impact would be remembered for years to come.
At this time of grief, Governor Nyong’o urged everyone to take a moment to celebrate Dalmas’s positive contributions and impact. He prayed that the Almighty God would rest Dalmas’s soul in peace.
Dalmas Otieno Anyango, the third-born in a family of six, passed away at the age of 80 after a brief illness. His body is currently preserved at Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi.
