Sh2B Kisumu Airport’s Traffic Control Tower is Complete

KISUMU, Kenya –The new Sh 2 billion Kisumu Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower at Kisumu International Airport, constructed by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), is now complete.

This eight-storey, state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest in ICT, surveillance and communication systems, meeting international aviation standards.

The modern tower will enhance operational efficiency, safety and airspace management, positioning Kisumu International Airport to handle increasing air traffic with precision and reliability.

The main contractor and CEO of Polish Contractors Co. Limited, Polycarp Mburo, says that already the facility is classified as a Class 3 airport, Kisumu International Airport’s new ATC tower further strengthens its status as a premier aviation hub in Kenya and the wider Lake Region.

It is set to facilitate seamless connectivity not only within Kenya but also to neighbouring countries including Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and beyond, supporting regional trade, tourism and economic growth.

The completion is in line with President William Ruto’s determination to expand Kenya’s aviation capacity by investing in modern infrastructure that boosts efficiency, safety and regional competitiveness.
