Govt To Uhuru Kenyatta: Stop Inciting GenZs Against Us

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has come under scathing attacks by leading government figures following his recent remarks urging African youths to rise and rescue their countries from poor governance.

According to President Ruto’s close allies, Uhuru neglected the youth agenda during his tenure and opted for leaders who should have long retired.

“He never trusted them and was skeptical of the youth leadership. Now, he claims that the very generation he once doubted is the one to drive his agenda forward,” they said during two separate church functions.

Leading the onslaught were Hon. Oscar Sudi (Kapseret MP) and Farouk Kibet, the President’s personal aide.

Farouk called on leaders to focus on development issues and shun divisive politics.

“Please give us a break. We are trying to sort out the financial mess you left behind, and now you are busy inciting the youth,” Sudi said during a Thanksgiving Service and Fundraiser for ACK Tumaini in Kapseret.

His counterpart, Hon. Didmus Barasa, blasted the ex-president Uhuru over his Save the Nation speech.

“I saw Uhuru Kenyatta urging the youth to chase us out of government, yet he’s the same person who once claimed that the youth are thieves and corrupt,” he said.

On Friday, 25th April, Uhuru urged the youth to actively participate in the activities of their country of birth.

“You, our young people, will have to play your part in shaping the destiny of our countries of birth. You will help us realize that this is the moment for every one of you to step onto the stage,” he made the remarks during the Second Annual Guild Leaders’ Summit 2025 held at Makerere University in Kampala-Uganda.

“No one is coming to save us,” Uhuru appealed as he noted that the youth have got the numbers, time, and energy to get involved in governance conversations until they effect the changes they desire.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen fired the first salvo on Friday, immediately after Uhuru’s speech, when he criticised the fourth president’s stance on the youth issue.

“His speech timing is suspect. We are focused on implementing our election pledges through the Bottoms Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) to create jobs and uplift the living standards of the youth,” Murkomen said.

National Assembly Chief Whip MP Sylvanus Osoro warned Uhuru inciting the GENZs against President William Ruto’s government.

Several leaders advised Uhuru to enjoy his retirement

” He is a licensed aviator who has created immense suffering, leading to several suicides among the youth,” Osoro said.
