Kisumu Majority Whip Seth Kanga Takes a Swipe At CECMs for Skipping National Celebrations

KISUMU, Kenya, October 21st –The majority whip at the Kisumu County Assembly, Hon Seth Kanga, has railed at chief officers from the executive for their tendency to avoid national celebrations.

Kanga observed that the vice has always been more pronounced whenever Governor Prof Anyang Nyong’o and his deputy, Dr Mathew Owili, are away.

” I have been attending all public functions as the area MCA, and that is what I have observed”, Kanga, who is commonly referred to as Adui Nyang, said.

The whip was speaking at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga sports ground in Kisumu during the Mashujaa Day fete. Kanga, who is the Market-Milimani Ward MCA, urged the Governor to take stern action against such errant chief officers.

He lauded the area County Commissioner, Mr Benson Leparmorijo, for being at the forefront of the fight against insecurity.

Kanga, however, pointed out that more needs to be done. He commended station commanders for dealing ruthlessly with criminals.

On his part, Leparmorijo also lauded the security chiefs for the work done and promised more enhanced patrols.
