Viktor Gyokeres Signs £55.1M with Arsenal for a Five-Year Deal

LONDON, UK, July 27— Arsenal Football Club have officially secured the signing of Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres for £55.1 million with a £8.1 million add-on.

This marks a significant addition to Mikel Arteta’s attacking line-up ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.

The 26-year-old completed his medical in London earlier yesterday, with all tests reported to have gone smoothly.

Gyokeres, who enjoyed a prolific season with Sporting CP in Portugal, arrives at the Emirates following weeks of intense speculation linking him to several top European clubs.

His move to Arsenal comes amid the club’s push to strengthen its squad depth, particularly in the final third, as they prepare for both domestic and Champions League campaigns.

The decision is expected to excite fans and heighten expectations for the Swedish striker’s impact at the club.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is understood to have played a central role in securing the deal, viewing Gyokeres as a powerful, mobile forward capable of fitting into his high-pressing, possession-based system.

Known for his strength, direct play, and sharp eye for goal, Gyokeres scored 27 goals in all competitions last season, becoming one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe.

Gyokeres is set to join his new teammates in training this week and could make his first appearance in an upcoming pre-season fixture.

His arrival has been met with widespread enthusiasm from the Arsenal fanbase, many of whom see him as a missing piece in the club’s attacking puzzle.
