Gor Mahia settled for a goal apiece 1-1 with Sofapaka in an early FKF Premier League kick-off played at Dandora Stadium in Nairobi yesterday.
An 89th-minute sucker punch from Douglas Kibet of Batoto Ba Mungu denied Kogalo the precious three points.
The teams played to a goalless draw as they both missed several glorious chances in the first half.
In the 18th minute, Kogalo’s talisman Benson Omalla outsprinted Sofapaka defenders and unleashed a ferocious volley which zoomed near the post.
It was a nervy moment for Kogalo when Sofapaka’s sizzling shot was punched by custodian Gad Mathews to the inside in the 31st minute.
A quick response by Sammy Onyango cleared the goal-bound ball off the line.
In the 55th minute of the second half, Gor showed their intent when Austin Odhiambo’s sumptuous strike rattled Batoto Baba Mungu’s goalpost.
Joshua Onyango opened the scoreline for Kogalo in the 67th minute to the frenzy of the Green Army (Gor fans).

The result maintains Gor’s third position having played 25 games and amassed 46 points.
They are within a touching distance of league leaders Kenya Police who have 49 points with a game more played.
In other fixtures played Saturday, Kakamega Homeboyz snatched the much-needed three points when it defeated Bandari 1-0 away at Mbaraki Grounds in Mombasa.
In the 72nd minute, Moses Shumah sneaked behind the portmen’s defence line and scored a beauty, having latched onto a neat pass from John ‘Buba’ Omondi.

Mara Sugar drew 1-1 with KCB in Awendo to sit in 12th and 5th place of the log respectively.
The FKFPL relegation-threatened teams are Murang’a Seal (16), Bidco United (17), and Nairobi City(18), who have (25,24,24) points respectively.
