THIKA, August 2026- Kakamega School Green Commandos and St Joseph’s Girls Kitale won the Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) 2026 Term 2 National Ball Games soccer titles after closely contested finals at MPESA Foundation Academy in Thika, Kiambu County.
In the boys’ final, record national champions Kakamega School defeated St Mary’s Yala 3-2 to clinch the title during the regulation time.
The girls’ final between St Joseph’s Girls Kitale and Nyakach Girls ended 1-1 in full time and remained 0-0 after extra time. St. Joseph’s Girls Kitale won 7-6 on post-match penalties to take the championship.

Both winning schools, together with runners-up St. Mary’s Yala and Nyakach Girls, will represent Kenya at the East Africa Secondary Schools Ball Games scheduled for Morogoro, Tanzania.
The KSSSA nationals also served as a scouting platform for Football Kenya Federation youth teams. FKF coaches and scouts in attendance identified several players from the U15, U17 and U20 age categories for further assessment and possible integration into the national youth team programmes.
