‘Operation Fagia’ Nabs 10 Suspected Gangsters in Kibos, Ogango, Kunya areas

Ten suspected gangsters arrested, crude weapons recovered in overnight operation in Kisumu East sub-county as police fight to reduce crime in the area.

MIGOSI, Kisumu East July 23 -An intensive overnight police operation aimed at curbing rampant mugging incidents in Kisumu East Sub-County has led to the arrest of ten suspects, including one female.

The crackdown dubbed ‘Operation Fagia’ was executed by a combined team of officers from Migosi Police Station, the Kisumu East Sub-County Quick Response Team (QRT), and the Delta Sierra Unit.

The operation was led by Kisumu East Police Commander, Edward Wafula, supported by the Deputy Officer Commanding Station (OCS), Migosi, Lillian Akinyi.

The police targeted high-risk zones within the Migosi jurisdiction, specifically Kibos, Kunya, Ogango, and Elgons.

These areas, located approximately 5 kilometres east of Migosi Police Station, have seen a surge in public complaints over mugging and violence.

Authorities say the operation is part of a larger ongoing campaign to restore safety and normalcy in the affected neighbourhoods.

Residents have welcomed the move, citing a noticeable increase in police visibility and responsiveness.
