President Ruto Announces Lucrative Incentives for Harambee Stars’ CHAN 2024 Tournament

NAIROBI, Kenya, August 2 –President William Ruto has pledged a lucrative multi-million offer to Harambee Stars as they kickstart their CHAN 2024 tournament glory against the Democratic Republic of Congo today.

During his visit to the team at their training camp yesterday, Dr Ruto gave a detailed description of his rewards for success as Sh1 million per player for every match won, and Sh500,000 per player for every draw.

The government will provide Sh60 million for reaching the quarterfinals, Sh70 million for the semi-finals, and Sh600 million for winning the tournament,” he assured the Benni McCarthy-led team.

President Ruto expressed his government’s commitment to improving Kenyan football through nurturing and promoting local talent.

With this support, he urged the country to rally behind the team and cheer them on to make a a strong impression in the tournament.

Apart from the DRC, the homegrown team, which is captained by Aboud Musa, is also pooled alongside Morocco, Angola and Zambia in the ‘Group A of Death.’

The Football Kenya Federation’s (FKF) Chairman Hussein Mohammed expressed their sincere gratitude to Dr Ruto for visiting the Stars camp ahead of their opener.

He was accompanied by Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya, Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi, and other senior officials.
