National Police Service Hosts Partners Ahead of Athletics Championship

Sports play a pivotal role in the National Police Service (NPS), acting not only as a unifying force but also as a platform for promoting physical and mental well-being.

It also fosters teamwork and discipline among officers and enhances overall morale and cohesion.

Over the years, the NPS has established itself as a sports powerhouse, a feat made possible by the steadfast support of valued partners.

Their commitment, demonstrated through resource provision and collaboration on various initiatives, has significantly strengthened the Service’s capacity.

In recognition of this unwavering support, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, hosted representatives from organisations including giant telco Safaricom, Co-operative Bank Kenya, Kenya National Police DT SACCO, Harambee SACCO, and https://nairobisportshouse.com/ on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 21st.

Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja met with athletics stakeholders to prepare for the forthcoming championship. He called for continued support to boost the morale of law enforcement officers.

As the Service prepares for the upcoming NPS Athletics Championship, scheduled for June 3rd and 4th at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, this support will be crucial in ensuring the event’s success as well as the success of future initiatives.

Speaking at the event, IG Kanja expressed gratitude to all partners for their support not only in sports but also in various other endeavours.

“These partnerships have assisted the Service in making consistent progress and delivering impactful outcomes,” he emphasised.

The Police Chief also commended NPS athletes who embody the Service’s values while representing Kenya on international stages.

IG Kanja notes that, “Their outstanding achievements bring honour to both the Service and the nation.”

Additionally, he acknowledged the Local Organising Committee (LOC), chaired by NPS Athletics Chairperson Mr. Stephen Etyang, AIG, for their crucial role in coordinating preparations.

“This will ensure that NPS athletes are well-positioned to excel as part of the national team.”
